China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has captured contracts to operate downtown duty-free stores in Chengdu and Tianjin.
CDFG previously bid for and won the rights to manage the downtown duty-free stores in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xi'an and Fuzhou.
In Chengdu, CDFG had chosen a site at Yanlord Landmark Plaza on Renmin South Road in the city’s central business district, which gathers the commercial essence and cultural landscape of Chengdu and has unique location and resource advantages.
CDFG will join hands with Chengdu's outstanding local state-owned enterprises to establish a joint venture to operate the city's duty-free shop project.
In Tianjin, another key economic centre, CDFG had selected a site in the Yanlord Isetan complex, with the store set to represent “a new landmark in consumer experience” in the city.
The establishment of duty-free shops in the city is an important opportunity for shaping the urban business district, for Chinese culture and acts as an incubator for national fashion brands.
CDFG will create a new retail model that fuses tax-paid and duty-free shopping, imported + domestic goods, and offline to online retail. This in turn will promote the high-quality development of the duty-free industry in Chengdu and Tianjin and contribute to the prosperity of the regional economy.
