Introduction to Heihe Border Duty Free Store

Heihe Border Duty Free Store was established in November, 1996 and began operations in June, 1997. Located in the joint inspection hall of Heihe Port which serves as a first-class national port, this store was the earliest border duty free shop in China and even in Asia. Currently, its business area extends to 1,000 m2, and it has a comfortable and elegant shopping environment. The store manages over 2,000 varieties of commodity including imported perfume, cosmetics, watches, leather products, garments, jewelry, tobacco & liquor and domestic products. Consistently adhering to principles of standardized management, honest operation and high-quality service, the store has achieved good economic and social progress, and has been given awards by CDFG and the local government many times.

There is only a river lying between Heihe Duty Free Store and Blagoveshchensk(capital of Amur Oblast, the third largest city in the Russian Far East). The store is just 900m from the city hall of Blagoveshchenskand the joint inspection hall is less than 2000m (straight-line distance) from the passenger inspection hall in Heihe Port, therefore the store enjoys convenient transportation links. Heihe and Blagoveshchensk are the nearest, largest scale most populated and most advanced sister cities along the more than 4,500 km of border between China and Russia. The city center of Heihe has beengivenapproval to become a border trade zone by both governments. Any resident of Amur Oblast can use their passport to enter the city center ofHeihe for vacation, shopping, business or other activities without a travel visa.
