On February 22, the annual appreciation party of the China Duty Free Hope Foundation was held in Beijing. Mr. Tu Meng, Secretary General of the China Youth Development Foundation, Mr. Lu Lu, President of China Duty Free Group Co., Ltd., all members of the management team of the China Duty Free Group Co., Ltd., representatives of subsidiary companies of CDFG, and CDFG’s employee representatives attended this party.

In 2010, the 3 hope primary schools donated by CDFG were completed, and the “China Duty Free – Love 1+1 Student Sponsorship Scheme” was launched. A short film also recorded the details of the work carried out by the China Duty Free Hope Foundation. All of this was a demonstration of the love and support of everyone at CDFG, the warmhearted duty-free companies, and customers at home and abroad.

Mr.Tu Meng, Secretary General of the China Youth Development Foundation, gave a speech. Mr. Chen Guoqian, Vice President of China Duty Free Group Co., Ltd., also gave a speech on behalf of the China Duty Free Hope Foundation. All members of the CDFG leader group were awarded the medal of the “2010 Honored Units of China Duty Free Hope Foundation” on the stage. Although the “China Duty Free Hope Foundation” was founded by CDFG only three years previously, it has made outstanding contributions to China’s charity undertakings. Therefore, the China Youth Development Foundation was awarded the specially established “Outstanding Public Partner for the 20 Years of Project Hope” to the China Duty Free Group.

In October 2010, the China Duty Free Hope Primary School in Ziyang of Sichuan Province was completed, and the “China Duty Free – Love 1+1 Student Sponsorship Scheme” was also launched. Zhan Yang, a League member of CDFG who implemented this scheme, talked about her feelings and experiences. She said, “I have shared many memorable experiences in the trip to Danshan. I hope these pictures allow everyone to learn about the lives of children in the mountains. They are still waiting for our help.” Zhan Yang’s emotional narration made us realize the hardships and helplessness of the children in the mountains. In the ceremony which followed where individuals could donate to the school, many enterprises and individuals named the number of poverty-stricken students that they wanted to help as well as their donation amount. Meanwhile, Mr. Lu Lu, President of CDFG, on behalf of the China Duty Free Hope Foundation, donated 200,000 Yuan to the China Youth Development Foundation and the China Duty Free Hope Foundation. This donation would act as the initial capital for 2011 charity activities of the China Duty Free Hope Foundation. This donation would be used for the construction of newly-determined China Duty Free Hope Primary Schools for that year. It was a night full of warmth, gratitude and hope. Taking this as a start point, CDFG people would actively participate in the charity activities launched by the China Duty Free Hope Foundation, and make new contributions to the China Duty Free public welfare activities.
