CDFG participates in 2014 World Duty Free Expo in Cannes, France
On October 26-31, at the invitation of TFWA, CDFG delegation of 17 people led by Vice President of CITS Co., Ltd., Chairman and General Manager of CDFG Peng Hui, and Vice GM of CDFG Chen Guoqiang, participated in the annual tax-free expo in Cannes. This expo is the global event in the duty free industry organized by TFWA. Since it was held in 1984 for the first time, it has attracted the global duty-free operators, brand suppliers, airport authorities and the media. This year's venue is still at Palais Des Festival in Cannes, France. 21,000 square meters of space accommodated 471 exhibitors, 45 of whom are newcomers. 6,652 delegates participated in the expo, an increase of 6 percent compared with last year.In the first day of the expo, TFWA president Mr. Erik Juul-Mortensen, 65th United States Secretary of State Mr. Gen. Colin Powell, Air France President and CEO Mr. Alexandre de Juniac, etc all made wonderful speeches. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of TFWA. TFWA president Erik recalled the development origin and course of the tax free industry over the past 30 years in his speech. Under the joint efforts of duty free people, the global duty-free sales increased from $ 6 billion in 1985 to$ 60 billion in 2013. In addition, Erik also talked about the enormous impact of the rapid development of China’s duty free industry on the global industry in recent years. Especially the grand opening of CITS Group Sanya Haitang Bay Duty Free Shopping Center in 2014 wrote a new chapter for further development of the duty-free industry.During the Expo, accompanied by Chen Guoqiang and the relevant business sectors, Peng Hui met with brand suppliers including PMI, Camus, Armani, Burberry, Dior, L'oreal Luxe, etc, and conducted a special exchange with TFWA and Dufry's senior heads. They reached a preliminary agreement on future co-operation and development in the Asia-Pacific region, and exchanged views on the future business development and strategic cooperation.During the Expo, the business sectors respectively had extensive contacts and negotiations with suppliers of tobacco, alcohol, boutique, perfume, cosmetics and food, and conducted in-depth communication and exchange on the future new product planning, brand development strategy, marketing joint promotion, business training, overseas business development, e-commerce development, the operations of Haitang Bay Duty Free Shopping Center after the opening and the opening matters of duty free stores in Cambodia. They further implemented the progress of the project, supply assurance, marketing and other details to ensure the follow-up smooth operation of Haitang Bay Shopping Center and the smooth opening of the project in Cambodia.Through six days’ expo, CDFG delegation successfully completed brand communication and publicity work, which laid a solid foundation for further cooperation with the brand suppliers and played a crucial role in steadily promoting major projects and carrying out daily business.
